How to Opt Out of ThatsThem and Remove Your Profile
Last checked: October 25, 2026
Quick answer: Go to thatsthem.com/optout and enter your details exactly as they appear on your ThatsThem profile — same spelling, same address format, character for character. Do not tick the extra boxes under the form. Complete the CAPTCHA and submit. ThatsThem states removal in 5 to 7 days, and there is no email confirmation step in the standard flow, so your on-screen confirmation is your receipt.
ThatsThem is a people-search site that publishes profiles combining names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses. Its opt-out form is simple, but it is unusually strict about matching. Most failed ThatsThem requests we hear about are not rejected — they silently fail because the details submitted did not match the profile exactly.
Steps to opt out of ThatsThem
- Find your profile first. Search ThatsThem for your name, phone number, or address and open your profile. Keep it open in a separate tab — you will copy from it in the next step.
- Copy your details exactly as shown. Note the name, street address including any unit or apartment number, city, state, ZIP code, phone number, and email address precisely as the profile displays them.
- Open the opt-out form. Go to thatsthem.com/optout.
- Enter the copied details. Type or paste the information exactly as it appears on the profile. Do not "correct" abbreviations, expand street suffixes, or reformat the address — see the pitfalls section below for why this matters more here than on other sites.
- Leave the extra boxes unticked. There are additional boxes under the form. Do not tick them. They are not required to remove your profile, and selecting extra options can change what you are agreeing to or requesting.
- Complete the CAPTCHA and submit. Solve the CAPTCHA and send the form.
- Save the on-screen confirmation. ThatsThem shows a confirmation on screen. In the standard flow there is no separate email confirmation step, so screenshot or note the confirmation and the date before you close the page.
- Repeat for each record. If you have more than one profile — for example, an old address or a second phone number — submit a separate request for each record.
ThatsThem pitfalls
Exact match means exact. This is the defining pitfall of this site. If your profile says "St" and you type "Street," if it lists "Apt 4B" and you omit the unit, or if the ZIP or phone format differs, the request can fail without any error message telling you why. Treat the form as a matching exercise, not a form to fill in from memory. Copy character for character from the profile itself.
Do not rely on an email that will not come. Readers used to other brokers wait for a confirmation email, assume the request failed when none arrives, and submit duplicates. On ThatsThem, the standard flow ends with the on-screen confirmation. Judge success by whether the profile disappears within the stated window, not by your inbox.
One record at a time. A single request covers a single record. Old addresses, maiden names, and alternate numbers can each generate a separate profile, and each needs its own request with its own exactly-matched details.
Listings can return. ThatsThem rebuilds profiles from data sources outside its own site. A removed profile can reappear months later if the same information is collected again. Removal lowers your exposure; it is not a one-time fix for every future listing.
How long it takes and how to verify
ThatsThem states a removal time of 5 to 7 days. To verify:
- Wait at least 7 days after submitting.
- Search ThatsThem again using the same name, phone, or address search that found the profile.
- Open the old profile URL directly if you saved it — a removed profile should no longer resolve to your listing.
- If the profile is still live after 7 days, resubmit, re-checking every field against the profile character for character before you do.
- Recheck every few months. If the profile returns, repeat the same process.
Rather have it done for you? Doing this site by site is free but slow, and ThatsThem is only one of hundreds of brokers. Services such as Incogni and Optery submit and monitor removal requests for a fee. We list manual steps first on every guide; paid help is optional.
